Massive Movement Project-Solstices and Equinoxes

My Massive Movement Project was about making a video and choosing your own topic and also make it your own. The topic that I chose for my project was Solstices and Equinoxes. To explain what my topic was about I also had to explain how Earth  was composed which is how is divided in two halves or hemispheres and also that its tilted and it revolves around the Sun, and when it revolves does a path which is curved and it is called Orbit. While Earth does this path around the Sun there are Seasons, these seasons happen when is at the North, South, West and East of the Sun. When it's at North there is the Vernal Equinox and happens in March 21-22, while in the South there is Autumnal Equinox and happens in September 22-23. These are the equinoxes, when this happens twice a year the Earth has 12 hours of day and 12 hours of night. When earth it's at West there is the Summer Solstice and happens on June 21-22 and when it's on East there is the Winter Solstice that happens on December 21-22. Solstices is when earth experience the longest day and the longest night. Solstices and Equinoxes have a great influence on the two hemispheres, but not on the equator. Because of the location, Equator always receives same amount of light and experience direct angle of sun rays. Unlike the two hemispheres, Equator has equal night and day, and warm temperature throughout the year. Earth has also two poles: the north pole and the south pole. These are two points on a Earth where the axis goes through. Solstices dramatically impact on day and night length of those poles. Sometimes when the north pole tilted to the Sun, it experience 24 hours of day and when it's away from the sun it experience 24 hours of night.

Critical Thinking Questions

·    How do the Earth’s motions affect us each day?
- Earth's motion affect us each day because there is to day and night and there is different time in the whole world, because of the rotation of the earth the wind moves a in different way in the Northern Hemisphere and in the Southern Hemisphere.

·    How are the movements of the Sun, Moon and Earth work together as a system?
- The movements of the Sun, Moon and Earth work together as a system, because the earth revolves around the sun and the moon revolves around the earth and when the moon revolves, the sun reflects its light and on earth we are able to see the different shapes. If the moon is in the earths shadow there is a lunar eclipse while if its in front of the sun there is a solar eclipse because the sun is blocked by the moon.

Reflection

·    What did you enjoy most about this project and why?
- About this project i enjoyed creating a story about what is going on around us and how that manifests, also I liked working in a group because when you work together you get more ideas to make something better.

·    What was most challenging for you during this project and why?
-The most challenging part of this project was making in order the video because I had to have a lot of subtitles in my native language and some of the words were different so i had to get around those words so I could explain better my topic.

·    What new skills did you learn from doing this project?
-The new skills that I learned from this project is to be patient and very careful with all the organizing, because if you do not organize your things, the things that you do aren't going to make sense.

·    Is there anything you would like to change about this project? Explain
-I think I would not change anything about this project, because I think the project was good.
